We developed a bespoke ecommerce solution for a hobby craft supply company based in Cheshire. The new system was a replacement of their previous online shop, and provided improvements to both the user experience, and site management including order fulfilment and stock management.
This project is a great example of how we were able to provide a comprehensive solution working to a detailed specification, resulting in improved company operation and increased turnover.
Our client for this project – Craftshapes Ltd – required a new system to advance their online presence and improve their ability to sell products to a wider market.
Although there are several “off the shelf” e-commerce solutions available, none of them offered the specific functionality required by the client, and so after consultation, we opted for a bespoke system build.
The new system was built from scratch, ensuring that every part of the system’s functionality, from framework up to user interface and stock and order management, was designed specifically for use by the client.
The additional benefit of a bespoke system is that we are in the perfect position to add new functionality and update existing code as the client requires, having a complete knowledge of the system architecture and capabilities.
As a direct result of the new e-commerce website, Craftshapes Ltd saw an increase in sales and turnover.
A prominent factor in the sales increase was the vastly improved search engine optimisation (SEO) we had integrated into the site, ensuring that all the content and information relating to the products was relevant and prominent. This led to a large increase in visitors, which translated directly to more sales.
Another advantage to the new system was a vastly improved central administration area, which allowed for better product and stock management, a comprehensive order management system, and advanced reporting on all aspects of the sites functionality. This led to efficiency gains for company operation, which was beneficial to company profits.
