In Dan’s previous employment, he was fortunate to work with a variety of clients from the Pawnbroking sector, allowing him to gain a thorough understanding of the workings and requirements of the industry.
We’ve given an overview of some of the projects Dan has worked on with the Pawnbroking industry, to provide you with an idea of the knowledge and expertise he brings to Feel Created.
Dan developed and managed two seperate online “Cash for Gold” websites and administration systems.
These websites allowed customers to apply for postal packets where they could send in unwanted jewellery which could be processed by the operating company, and a valuation and bank cheque be sent back to the customer.
Both systems integrated with 3rd party financial services for identification and credit checks, in line with Pawnbroking industry standards of operation.
As with the jewellery repair system
Dan also developed a jewellery repair system for one of the UK’s leading Pawnbroking companies.
The repair system was designed to be used in store at point of sale to handle customer’s jewellery repairs throughout the entire process, including automated customer contact via email and SMS (3rd party integration) as well as handle the external supply chain.
This cloud based system was instantly available to all stores, without any need for installation or specific I.T. support, drastically reducing the cost of deployment.
During the height of the “Cash for Gold” boom, when most town centres saw several pop up Gold shops and kiosks, Dan designed and developed a cloud based gold buying system that allowed for the gold kiosks to register the full gold buying transaction, including monitoring the sellers identity in line with industry security procedures.
The system allowed for full management of each kiosks cash float by user, ensuring fully controlled monetary asset management. The system also maintained a comprehensive jewellery categorisation system to ensure the items bought were properly catalogued and identified.
The system was in use by two separate Pawnbroking companies and serviced over 50 gold buying kiosks across the UK, handling combined transaction values of over £10million.
For a startup Pawnbroking company, Dan designed the system architecture and developed a comprehensive cloud based Point of Sale (POS) which would serve as the primary operating system for the company’s network of shops and central company administration.
The system was built to handle every aspect of the company’s day to day operations, including gold buying, secured loans (pledges) and payday loans, safety deposits, interest management, customer identities and item layaways. The system could generate industry standard loan agreement documentation and handle the complete Customer Relationship Management (CRM) operations.
In addition, there was a comprehensive suite of administration features including internal real-time messaging between company users and performance monitoring for gold buyers with auto-calculated buyers commission.
Finally, there was a fully controlled asset management and retail system, allowing the stores to convert purchased jewellery into second hand assets and sell back to customers.
