Overview
Feel Created has been independently verified by the Green Web Foundation, recognising the steps we take to reduce the environmental impact of the hosting services we provide.
We’ve been listed in the Green Web Directory since 2024 and continue to provide evidence to support our status as a verified green hosting provider.
The Green Web Directory lists hosting providers that can back up their environmental claims with evidence. Providers need to submit supporting information and keep it up to date.
For us, it means being able to back up what we say about greener hosting with evidence.
What does Green Web Foundation verification mean?
The Green Web Foundation maintains the Green Web Dataset, which tracks hosting providers and digital infrastructure worldwide.
Green Web Foundation verification isn’t just a one-off badge for us. We have to back up our claims, and we renew it each year. That includes sharing information about the hosting we buy, invoices that confirm our upstream provider, and details about our own environmental approach.
Our current listing covers both Managed WordPress Hosting and Platform as a Service.
We’ve also published a carbon.txt file, providing machine-readable information about the services and infrastructure we use. The Green Web Foundation highlights this on our listing as part of its work to improve public disclosure of sustainability information.
UK hosting backed by greener infrastructure
All the websites we host and manage are based in the UK.
Our managed WordPress infrastructure runs through a specialist WordPress supplier using Google Cloud. That gives us the performance, security and scalability we need, while also letting us consider the environmental impact of the infrastructure we rely on.
That matters because websites aren’t impact-free. Servers need electricity to store information, process requests and deliver pages every time somebody visits a website.
Choosing what’s behind those websites is one way we can reduce the impact associated with the digital services we provide.
Green hosting without compromising performance
Environmental considerations shouldn’t mean accepting slower or less capable hosting.
Our hosting is built around the same things we’ve always prioritised for clients: security, reliability, performance and ongoing support.
We manage the technical side of the platform, including updates, monitoring, backups and optimisation, while our clients get a UK-hosted WordPress platform built for performance and long-term maintenance.
Green Web Foundation verification gives clients another independent check on the hosting service we provide.
Part of our wider environmental commitment
Hosting is only one part of our environmental impact.
We’ve recently completed our latest emissions report through the SME Climate Hub, calculating our footprint for the reporting year and setting out how we’ll measure our progress annually.
Our office uses renewable electricity, we operate largely paper-free, keep business travel low and continue to support climate projects through Ecologi.
For hosting specifically, Green Web Foundation verification gives us a way to evidence the infrastructure and suppliers behind the service, rather than relying on our own claims.
We’ll continue updating the evidence behind our Green Web Foundation verification and reviewing the infrastructure we use as standards for greener hosting continue to develop.
